Date Night

Fabulous dessert!  We had to leave half on the plate!

My non-ass kicking bolwing shoes.

Look at that form!  He learned that in his bowling class at KU. :)

Erick and I actually had a date night on Sunday while the kiddos had a fabulous babysitter.  Erick picked the restaurant for dinner...Carraba's.  And I chose the after dinner event...bowling.  Ha!  I don't even know the last time either of us bowled, but it wasn't good.  It sure was fun though--just to get out and be able to talk and hang out with each other without the Littles.  After bowling, we had a couple of drinks at Walts and then headed home.  It was great being with the hubs!

Parent's Night at Gymnastics

I took Ava to gymnastics the other night and had forgotten it was Parent's Week.  Oops.  Bad Mommy.  So I only had my phone to take pictures and they aren't real great.  But it was fun to be able to watch her and see how much she has grown.  One thing I noticed is that the girl does not stop moving!  Even when she is just supposed to be standing and waiting her turn, she is jumping, hopping, skipping. etc.  It's actually pretty funny.
I'm very proud of how hard she works and what she has accomplished so far with gymnastics!

New leotard we picked out after her class!

Cute Stuff From Ava

Just a few things Ava has said lately...

Prayer on Sunday night: "Dear God, thank you for this wonderful day and thank you for our family.  Please make the world happy.  I will always love you.  Amen."

Sitting on the toilet, she yelled, "Mom!"  I went in the bathroom and she looked up and said, "Why can't we hear God?"  We discussed the question a bit and then she said, "God blows the bad things away."  Oh really?  "Ya, like if there are scary things, he just blows them away and you aren't scared anymore."

In the car with Erick on the way to daycare....They were talking about Silas' birthday (a kiddo in her class).  "One day, Silas and I are going to get married.  If we get married, do we have to kiss?"  Erick told her most married couples kiss, but she wouldn't have to worry about that for a loooong time.  :)  She talks about Silas all the time!  She says he's her best friend and she only wants to play with him at school.  She is so darn excited about his birthday party!

Sad news...B-man's giraffe is gone again.  Not good.

FuNnY

Just a little funny...
A and B watching Dora the Explorer.
Brecken: Dora!
Ava: Brecken, you can't just go places all by yourself like Dora.  I know you want to but you can't.  It's not safe.  Dora's parents are just silly silly parents.

Go Wings!

Erick and I took the kiddos to a Wings soccer game a couple of weeks ago.  They were up way past their bedtime but we made it through the whole game!  B-man didn't quite get into it until the end, but Ava was very interested!  She told us if she was on the field, she would run faster than anyone!
It was definitely fun for us to do as a family!  Erick and I both remember going to the games with our parents when we were young.

Happy February!

We're a few days into February and do you know what that means?  A few days closer to Spring Break!  How exciting!
Another exciting thing is that B-man got tubes in his ears.  It finally got to the point where we didn't have another option.  His ears were constantly infected and no antibiotic was helping (he tried them ALL).  He was miserable.  We had to be at the surgery center at 6:30am which was not too fun, but both kids did well and the actual surgery didn't take long at all--it was just all of the prep work before that took forever.  After Brecken was all done, he was NOT a happy camper.  He wanted out of that place so bad but we had to stick around for a while to make sure he was okay.  Once they let us go, he was much better and he had a great rest of the day.  We just had his two-week check up last week and the tests and doctor told us that his ears were clear!  Yahoo!  We go back in four months for another check up.  Erick and I are just so glad that he isn't miserable anymore!  Now if we could just get rid of the cough he's had for a month...
The night before the tubes.

A and B hanging out at 6:30am at the surgery center.

Cutest little boy!

Playing before surgery.

Love the gown and socks he wore!
