Happy Birthday, Brecken!

My little man is TWO!  Two years ago, we went to the hospital too early in the morning to have our little baby boy.  My, how time has flown!
Brecken, when you were first born (and for about a month after), I was a mess.  I was unsure how my heart was going to have enough room wtih Ava taking up so much space.  But you definitely have a huge part of it.  You are the sweetest little man.  I love your squeezes (hugs) because you wrap your chubby little arms around me and squeeze so hard.  I love your eskimo kisses, which you have to give to everyone in the house before going to bed.
You love your sissy and want to do everything she does even if you can't.  And when you can't do it...wow...you relaly let us know what you think about that by screaming your little red head off.
I love that you enjoy begin outside so much and that you can shoot baskets and kick a soccer ball better than any two year old I know.
I love that you enjoy reading books...at bedtime and at random times in your room with Ava.
I love how you are talking so much more now.  It's so fun!  My favorite at the moment is when you say, "Oh, man!"
I love that when we take you to school, you walk down the hallway like you own the place, waving at everyone with a big 'ol smile on your face, saying, "Hi! Mornin'!"
Your birthday party was great!  Our family adores you and I am so happy that they were there to celebrate with you!

A Few Pictures

I need to blog about the tornado from Saturday night, but I will do that when I have a little more time.

Ashley emailed me a few pictures of when we went to meet Lia a couple of weeks ago (before she had to go to KC).  I thought they were cute and wanted to share!

Love this picture!

Ava didn't want to share.  I had to make her give Lia back to me...because I didn't want to share.

Not a great one of Brecken, but he and Jack had fun playing!
Please continue to pray for Lia!  She had her third open heart surgery (the full repair) today.  It went well and you can read about it on Ashley's blog.

Fun with Little Jack

My friend, Ashley, had a baby girl a couple of weeks ago (16 days to be exact) and little Lia was born with a heart condition called Tetrology of Fallot.  They have already had a long journey and there is more to come.  Lia was at Wesley for a few days in Wichita and while Ashley and her hubs were spending time there, Jack, their little boy, was hanging out with grandparents.  Since we didn't have school last Friday, Jack got to come over to our house to play with Ava and Brecken for a while before his daddy picked him up so they could meet Lia in Kansas City.
Jack was a little timid at first...but who wouldn't be with B-man in his face trying to show him every single toy in the playroom?  He did warm up and have fun though!  The three of them played for quite a while (coloring, making Easter cards, playing with cars, etc.), we had pizza for lunch, they played more, then I put Brecken down for a nap.  We blew up the air mattress and Ava and Jack got to lay on it and watch cartoons while they rested.  The kids had fun with little Jack and it was nice to have someone over to keep them busy! :)

If you want to know more about little Lia and her heart, you can follow Ashley's blog at http://rashields.blogspot.com/.  She needs your prayers!

Here are a few pictures I took of the kiddos during their playdate.

PIZZA!!!

Okay, Jack looks scared in this one.  Ashley, if you see this...he was perfectly fine.  Honestly, I think he was trying to annoy me because I kept asking him to smile for the camera.  :)  I still think it's a cute picture though!

Easter Weekend

Egg decorating

Easter Egg Hunt in Marion with Nanny and Papa

B-man decided he didn't want to be with the bunny anymore!

Ridin' the Rhino

Yes, I know...our children are talented.

So very talented.

Easter Egg Hunt at Nana and Papa's house with cousins.

Nana is paying the kiddos for their eggs!  Jennifer and I thought this was a great deal and wondered why this didn't happen when we were younger. :)

Brecken, Papa and the duck caller.

Happy Easter!
