Run For Your Momma

My wonderful husband ran his second half marathon this morning in Marion.  It was called Run For Your Momma and proceeds went to the Marion MOPS group.  It was fun to drive to different mile markers to watch him run by and cheer him on.  So much better than just waiting at the finish line!  My mom, stepdad, brother, and sister-in-law also got to cheer him on.  Erick said the course was beautiful and the race was very well put together.  He will definitely do it again next year.  So very proud of him!

The Little Mermaid

Ava and I got to see The Little Mermaid today!  It was put on by the Music Theatre of Wichita at Century II.  I wasn't sure how long the muscial would last until the man announcing the show said it was two acts, around one hour each with a fifteen minute intermission.  I thought, whoa!  Didn't quite know if Ava was going to make it through the whole thing without getting antsy and whiney.  But she sat on my lap the whole time and barely moved.  Well, her mouth moved.  She asked quite a few questions.  But it was awesome--we had so much fun together and it was pretty cool to see her so interested in the musical.  Right when it was over and we walked out the door, Ava began talking about how she wanted to put on a play when we got home.  As we walked, she was talking a mile a minute about how she was going to be Ariel, Daddy would be King Tritan, Brecken would be Flounder and I would be Ursula.  But she had stipulations on my character.  She said, "Mommy, you have to be the witch, but you can't take away my voice because you aren't magic.  You have to be a nice witch.  Not mean."  Too cute!
A quick picture before we left.

Had a stranger take this one before it started.

B-man at Gymnastics

Tonight was Brecken's last gymnastics class.  He is known as the boy that "smiles all the time".  He has had lots of fun getting his energy out!

It's Thursday.  Only 4 and a half more days until I go back to work.  It makes me a little excited and want to throw up at the same time. :)
We had a fun morning today!  We met Ashley and Jack at Exploration Place.  The kiddos had fun exploring and playing.
Excuse some of the fuzzy pics.  I want a new camera.  Sigh.
Ava and Jack

Fun in the water

Jack loved this ride!

Look, Mom!

Ava was an old pro at this.

B loved it too!

We also took the kids to see a movie in the Dome Theater.  It was called Chirpie and was just about 20 minutes long.  Ava and Jack seemed to really like it, but it scared Brecken a bit when the rain and snow looked like it was falling on us.
After the movie we took a short trip to Exploration Park and then to have a super healthy lunch of nuggets and fries. :)
Jack, Ashley and Ava waiting for the movie to begin.

Playing at the park

Yummy!
What a great way to spend the morning!  Now it's nap time...another great time of the day.
You can see more of Ashley and her family on her blog.  Click here.  Don't you love the header on her blog?  You know you do, because I made it! :)

SaLe! SaLe!

Next month I will be putting my kiddos clothes (the ones that don't fit anymore) and toys (the ones they don't play with anymore) into a consignment sale.  They are a few around town, but lately I've been putting my fabulous things into the Rhea Lana Sale.  I really like it because all three times that I have consigned with Rhea Lana, it's been so easy to drop off my things, put them away and pick them up.  I also LOVE the online aspect of it.  After I tag everything, I enter all prices and descriptions online.  When I drop off my items, they give me labels with my info already printed on them and I can just put the labels on the tags.  Each tag has a barcode, so as things sell, I can watch my $$$ online.  It actually gets a little addictive! :)
As I am going through things and hanging them up, I am so excited to clear a ton of these clothes out of here--and make money off of them!  But it also makes me a little sad when I see the teeny tiny pieces of clothing.  Here are a few pics I took of my things I have ready at this point.  I have about four or five more tubs of clothes to hang!  I will definitely be taking over the entire basement.

The beginning of hanging clothes...

So cute winter outfit that was Brecken's.

Ava wore this over Christmas.  She looked adorable!

Another one of B's outfits.  This was one of my favorites.

More of B's stuff.

Ava's coats...the green and pink one is my favorite and there is a hat to match!  So flipping fabulous!
If you have kid stuff, furniture, or maternity things you would like to get rid of, you should consign!  You get more money than you would at a garage sale and I love buying my kids' clothes there.  Whatever money I make, I spend on my kids for the next two seasons.  Love it!

My Little Girl

Ava had her well-child check today at the doctor.  We actually skipped her three year one and she won't be four until October 1st, but we needed the paper work for the kids' new child care center.  The doctor checked her all out and then had her draw some shapes, a person, count to ten, and asked if she knew her abc's and colors.  She said everything looked great!  Ava weighs 34 pounds (49th percentile) and is 40 3/4 inches tall (81st percentile).  She was awful worried about getting a shot since she saw how hard Brecken cried when he got his.  But she had to get one.  She cried before, during and after.  Poor girl!  Her prizes were two princess stickers and an ice cream certificate from the doctor and then she decided we should go to the mall and ride the rocket.  The littlest things can make a girl happy!  :)
One more thing on Ava...I took her with me to my annual dermatologist appointment last week because Erick and I were concerned about a spot on her face.  We noticed it last summer when she was real tan.  It's like she has lost pigment in a spot.  You can't really tell in the winter since she gets pale, but we can see it again this summer and it looks like it has spread.  The doctor used a black light and said she thought it was vitiligo.  So we now have some cream to put on it twice a day in hopes that the pigment will come back.  Our fingers are crossed!
I'm helping Ava work in her new preschool workbook right now.  She knows a lot more letters than I thought!  Off to play/work with my baby girl!
