Even though B is fourteen months old now, we just had his wellness visit today. Two months late. No big deal. The doctor checked him out and said everything looked great, of course!
His stats...
Weight: 20 lbs. 0.5 oz. Percentile: 4%
Height: 2 ft, 5.5 in Percentile: 16%
Head Circumference: 19.25 in Percentile: 93%
After the doctor told us how well Brecken looked and seemed to be doing, B received a few shots. And our little boy's happy face went away. The crocodile tears rolled down his little chubby cheeks. Poor baby. I think it made Ava a little upset too. She didn't want her little brother to be hurt. It didn't take long, though, and the crying stopped. They both got a certificate for a free ice cream when we left!

Holiday Island, The End
Above are pictures we took on our morning in Eureka Springs.
Ava was a fish in the pool on vacation! I think she spent more time under water than above and we had to keep reminding her to breathe and blow bubbles. She was constantly jumping in the water, getting out, jumping in, getting out, swimming under water, getting out... We are so proud of the progress she has made this summer in the water. Brecken, on the other hand, had kind of a love/hate relationship with the water. I think he wanted to be in it, but he didn't want anyone to hold him or bother him. He just wanted to do things on his own, which is pretty much impossible.
We took a short boat trip on Thursday. Maybe a few years from now, we can rent a boat for the day, but with B-man being so young we just can't stay out that long. He was exhausted and cried a lot of the time and then finally fell asleep right before we got back to the marina. Ava enjoyed the ride, but was afraid the fish would get her toes when she got in the water! She got in with Nanny and wrapped herself around my mom very tight!
The night before leaving...
We had a great time! But I am definitely glad to be home where it's easy to put the kids to bed and we have a bit of a routine. Now it's back to reality. Swimming lessons, gymnastics, playdates, trips to the library, naps, toys everywhere...
Holiday Island, Part Two
On Erin and Tyler's last day with us during vacation, we went to Roaring River State Park. We played in the freezing cold water and had a little picnic.
Each summer while on vacation we go to Ermilio's, a fabulous Italian place. I have to say, it's not as relaxing with the kiddos with us. But it's still great food and wine! After eating, we go to the Crescent Hotel and have drinks on the balcony. And, of course, that is also limited since we now have kids. :)
Still more vacay pics and words to come!

Holiday Island, Part One
Just got back from our summer vacay! We have a timeshare in Holiday Island on Table Rock and this was the first year that we took both kiddos. Whew! It was fun and exhausting! I will have to do a couple of blogs for our vacation because it would be too much in one sitting. I have a ton of pictures and it's going to kill me to not post all 250 of them. :) But I will post a lot. So watch out. This is post ONE of who knows who many!?
Our first stop on the way to our destination wasn't far...but we needed to transfer a couple of things from our car to my parents' car. It was a little packed. Ava couldn't move her feet because they were resting on strollers in the back seat.
And a few pictures from our stop...
I guess I should tell you that our timeshare is next door to my parent's timeshare, which I have been going to with my parents since I was five or so. A few years ago, Beverly, the woman who owned the timeshare next to my mom's, decided to sell hers and Erick and I bought it. I have loved going there almost every summer as a kid and now Erick and I are loving taking our kiddos! I hope it's something they will look forward to each year. This summer, my niece, Erin, and her boyfriend, Tyler, went with us for a few days. I think they had a good time and we wish they could've stayed the whole week.
In the evenings, we spend time on the deck. Hanging out. Talking. Having a drink or two. Making funny faces. Laughing.
More to come!

Summer Days
Whew! Busy summer already! A few things that have been happening...
Ava got a fishing pole from her uncle. He told her quite a while ago that he'd get her one, and the girl would not let him forget! So here it is! She is so excited to fish with it now. It even came with a fabulous little pink tackle box, which is actually her favorite part. She loves to get the "worms" out and play with them.
We celebrated Father's Day with my dad by having my parents over for steaks one evening. The kiddos sure love their nana and papa! My dad chased Brecken around and played hide and seek with Ava. Susan and Ava played "swimming lessons", which is now Ava's favorite pretend game. She is the teacher for a bit and makes you pretend that you're swimming, and then you switch roles. She pretends with her dolls and animals also. It's pretty cute to watch and listen to her.
The Littles enojoyed some coloring time together yesterday. Ava has a blank book that she's working on coloring and B-man just loved holding the crayons and scribbling on the paper. I had to tape it to the table so it wouldn't move all over the place. And he only tried to eat a crayon once!
The Littles started Kids Day Out at church today. They go from 9:30 to 1:00. When I dropped them off, they had smiles on their faces and when I picked them up, they were still there. They had a great time! I snapped a couple of pictures before we left.
