Our Weekend

Running in the dirt.

Digging in the dirt.

Tired boy.

Ava helping Daddy spread the mulch.

Papa pitches to Ava.

Just missed it!

Telling Papa, "You have to make the ball hit my bat."

Moving on to soccer.

BIG kick!

Loving on Papa.

Brecken likes chatting on the phone now.  We're working on saying, "Hello?"
Saturday morning, Erick ran 12 miles, did swim lessons with both kids, and then we worked in the yard for the rest of the day.  Talk about worn out.  But the kids sure had fun!  And they had even more fun in the evening when Papa (my dad) came over for dinner.  Ava kept him busy playing baseball and soccer, and then loved on him for a bit.  It was a beautiful day!  Today we went to church and just hung out for the rest of the day.  It was nice to have some down time, except that Brecken is getting more teeth and he pretty much just goes crazy when that's happening.  Gritting his teeth, making fists, stiffening his entire body.  He's a little scary looking.
Ava is going to finish out lessons at the Y this month in the parent/child class, because the other one is a waste of our time since she flips out the whole time.  She will start lessons at the Swim Club at the end of May and I think it'll be much better.  We have to stay out of view for the first week so she can build a relationship with her teacher.  She will wear fins and goggles.  Can't wait to watch her--it'll be great!
Ava is loving gymnastics.  Erick took her last week and they had some father/daughter time.  He came home talking about how she's really good, but could be so much better if she watched the teacher more instead of watching the other kiddos.  He became a little competitive, wanting her to be the best in the class.  It was kind of cute and scary at the same time.  Just wait until she starts playing team sports.  Hope he's not the crazy dad on the sidelines.
A week has gone by since the coaches heard about the cuts.  We haven't heard anything else, so I still don't know what I will be doing next year.  I am looking forward to finding out so that I can either get excited about going back to the classroom or get excited about the new coaching position.  I am just ready to know!
Here's to a fantastic week!
